Partnership with Parents

We believe that children benefit most from early years education and care when parents and settings work together in partnership.

We recognise parents as their child's first and most important educators, and we aim to involve them in every stage of their child's education.  The closer the parent and nursery team work in partnership, the more rewarding the child’s time in nursery will be.

Our door is always open to parents and carers for informal drop-ins.  You will also be invited to  quarterly parents evenings, an annual summer BBQ and from late spring 2010 coffee mornings, all of which are fantastic opportunity for you discuss your child’s progress, meet other parents and to get to know the team who are caring for your child on a more personal level.

For children under one and upon request  for the older children we will provide you with a 'what I did today" sheet which gives a brief account of what your child has eaten, how long they slept, what they have enjoyed doing and any other relevant information.

Your child's learning journey is available for you to view at all times.

Parents are regarded as members of our setting who have full participatory rights. These include a right to be:

·         valued and respected;
·         kept informed;
·         consulted;

·         involved and
·         included at all levels.
